OUTBREAK - Exhibition at Museum De Pont
18 Aug 2020 - 10 Jan 2021

De Pont is a contemporary art museum in hometown Tilburg. Wobby.club was honored to be invited to make an exhibition as a part of ‘The Route is Being Recalculated’.

LINE UP:

Jeroen de Leijer, Ralf Kokke, David Noro, Bobbi Oskam, Rogier Roeters, Marjolein Schalk, Indre Svirplyte, S.L. Trumpstein, Andrew Tseng, Nina van de Ven

Drawings, paintings, illustrations... Outbreak is a presentation of work by ten artists and illustrators. It hangs on a long wall, jumbled about like a burst of energy. Compiled associatively around ideas such as ‘virus’, ‘explosion’, ‘pandemic’ and ‘rebellion’, the exhibition has been conceived by the Tilburg artists’ initiative Wobby.club, which links up various creative invididuals within the Netherlands and abroad. They stand out by way of a humorous, unpolished and slightly absurdist style, but also due to their enthusiasm for exploring the limits of their own fields. That can also be said with respect to founders Jeroen de Leijer, Marjolein Schalk and S.L. Trumpstein. In combination with their own studio practices they hold fairs and exhibitions, for instance, and publish the magazine Wobby, eye-catching for its riso-printed bright colors. Aside from contributions by the founders,

Outbreak includes work by Ralf Kokke, David Noro, Bobbi Oskam, Rogier Roeters, Indre Svirplyte, Andrew Tseng and Nina van de Ven. All of the works can be seen independently, but together they engage in a surprisingly new and provocative tale.
