to RISO OR NOT 2025 at make eindhoven
From 6 to 17 October 2025, Wobby Club and Make Eindhoven presented the seventh edition of To Riso or Not. This intensive artist residency focused on making, experimenting and exploring print. For two weeks, the residents had full access to the graphic workshop facilities. This allowed the five young artists to immerse themselves in the world of printmaking. They worked with various printing techniques, including screen printing, Toyobo, risograph printing, etching, and monotype.
The selected artists for this edition were:
Doris Kolpa, Katharina Busl, Malte Hultgren, Niek Opstals and Yubin Lee.
During the residency, the makers had two intensive weeks to learn about the Risograph and the other printmaking techniques available at Make Eindhoven. Working in a shared and experimental environment encouraged them to broaden their practice and try out new approaches. They were challenged to push their creative boundaries, and time pressure played an important role. It encouraged quick and intuitive decisions, spontaneous working methods, and an openness to imperfections.
Throughout the residency, the artists were guided by mentor Kim David Bots. He supported them in their process and offered new perspectives.
The results of the residency were presented from 18 to 26 October during Dutch Design Week. Visitors could not only view the final works but also see the artists working. The participants regularly continued printing inside the exhibition space, giving the audience a rare glimpse into the making process behind the pieces.
This project is made possible in part by support from the Mondriaan Fund
