On the occasion of the first edition of The Other Book, a festival based on artists’ books in The Hague, Grafische Werkplaats invited Wobby.club for the Wobby Wall Project. For this exhibition six young artists from The Hague and the region Haaglanden created new work with the Risograph and other graphic techniques available at Grafische Werkplaats Den Haag.

Line up:
Lisa Blaauwbroek, Jip Piet, Jelmer Konjo, Alexandra Martens, Bas de Geus, Andrew Tseng

All artists are contributors to the magazine Wobby. This time, they were not just handing in a design, but worked with the Risograph duplicator themselves. The artists were challenged to make Riso wallpaper with their own artistic approach, mixing media and techniques.

Also on view was an exhibition of all Wobby magazines. Marjolein Schalk, chief editor of Wobby, gave a talk about Wobby and a Risograph workshop.

The opening of the exhibition took place during the first edition of Festival The Other Book, a unique celebration of the art book in all its facets. It is the first biennial event in The Hague (NL) that combines an art book fair with exhibitions, workshops, talks, presentations, demonstrations, films, and performances at various locations. Wobby.club was also part of the book fair. The first edition of The Other Book (29 November 2019 – 1 December 2019) was devoted to the Riso revolution: art books produced with Risograph and Mimeograph stencil duplicators.
