Wobby.club and Make Eindhoven present To Riso or Not, an exhibition featuring works by five artists, created during a joint printmaking residency. Discover the results during Dutch Design Week at Make.
The selected artists for this edition are: Doris Kolpa, Katharina Busl, Malte Hultgren, Niek Opstals and Yubin Lee, guided by Dutch artist Kim David Bots as mentor.
From 6–17 October, Wobby.club and Make Eindhoven hosted the seventh edition of the residency To Riso or Not. During this intensive work period, five young artists immersed themselves in the world of graphic printing techniques. They experimented not only with the fast and playful Risograph printer but also with other printing methods, some of which they used for the very first time. Techniques they explored include drypoint, monotype, toyobo, screen print, and risoprint.
In the exhibition To Riso or Not, the artists present their brand-new works, offering a glimpse into their creative process. During Dutch Design Week, the work will be on show from 18–26 October at Make Eindhoven. The participants will occasionally be working in the exhibition space, so you might even encounter them in action.
The aim of the work period is to approach graphic techniques not so much as means of reproduction, but rather as tools to trigger thought processes: the workshop as a think tank. The synergy among participants, and their confrontation with different techniques and materials in all their possible combinations, creates a “pressure cooker” environment in which they discover new aspects of their practice, share knowledge, and develop further. By providing them with time, space, and facilities, the program encourages experimentation and artistic growth.
