Our host and artist Noa Zuidervaart explores methods to comprehend the inexplicable and indescribable. He is inspired by myths, spiritual traditions and magic. Drawing is always the starting point. After that, the work can take all kinds of forms.
During Wobby Club Night on April 7, Noa will host a sparkling program of performances, presentations and films. Additionally, he will engage in conversation with some of Wobby's most favorite creators!
Mika Schalks is a graphic designer and illustrator from the Netherlands. He will present his new project & publication Normal Ordinary Signal about an abandoned television studio where a lady in green is broadcasting nothing but dust. The publication, a fictional TV guide, is created and riso-printed together with Wobby.club.
Supporting the story are a collection of short stop motion animated clips that can be found through the transmission noise of Normal Ordinary Signal.
Kexin Hao is a visual artist and designer born in Beijing and based in The Netherlands. She likes to challenge the boundaries between art and “non-art” space and thinks beyond the disciplines of design, performance, game, clubbing, and fitness.
Total Body Workout leads you through a ‘total body’ experience in which history unfolds not in chronological order but in a head-to-toe sequence. How is our body scripted and shaped by the times it lives in? How are national agendas and political ideologies woven into bodily semiotics? How does one’s body memory become an integral part of hegemonic historical narratives? And how do we inhabit a historical and totalised body?
Fashionista / feminista / spiritualista Hannah van der Heide loves cowgirls, shiny horses running on snow white beaches, all the dogs in the world, the color pink, stacking rocks, my synthesizer, toys, the clothes of Patricia Paay, Patricia Paay and house perfume. By putting play at the center of her work, there is always room for change, intuitive practices and fun.
During Wobby Club Night, she will create a live sound performance, creating a time capsule of the moment.
In 2016, Dj’s Random & Shuffle began as the resident Dj’s of "Het Feestje van…" at the Hall of Fame in Tilburg, from which they took over the organization in 2018 and renamed the dance night "Lukraak" (random). The concept is easy. They spin everything mixed together from metal to Italo-disco, from pop to alternative dance, from indie rock to hip-hop and everything in between.
