Vulgar Vixen - Loulou João
Vulgar Vixen - Loulou João
“Vulgar Vixen” by Loulou João (BE)
New publication by illustrator Loulou João (BE), a graphic novel containing 40 pages of bubbly goodness.
Loulou João (1993, Sint-Niklaas) is an Afro-Belgian illustrator and animator with roots in Congo. Typical themes are staying true to yourself, mental health and identity. Using an analytical approach, João tries to shed a different light on the narrative of women from the African diaspora. Through 3D software, she often visualises a personal, feminine kawaii reality with an eye on a safe space.
About Vulgar Vixen: “Miss Focket goes on a stupid virtual space walk for her stupid mental health. Not just a regular walk though, she’s on a mission! One that will hopefully end with her finding what she’s been yearning for, true human connection.
Remember when people used to meet/fall in love IRL? No, me neither…
Follow along as Miss Focket goes on an intergalactic journey, has a deep conversation with a cyborg bebe, finds herself inside a fluid simulation tank and plays “the quest”. Will she find what she is looking for?”
