In collaboration with the Illustratie Ambassade, Wobby.club is hosting a work period on March 19 and 20, 2022, during which four illustrators will use the Risoprinter to represent the current events of the day. The results can be seen during the exhibition 'Politiek Getekend' (that runs until March 27) in Meterhuis, Amsterdam.
The participating illustrators are Sanne Boekel, Nastia Cistakova, Saskia Janssen of Studio Ski and Bob Mollema. All four have the talent for producing illustrations in a quick and effective way, giving shape to their and others' voices. Under the direction of 'chef Wobby' Marjolein Schalk, the illustrators illustrate the very latest news using the Risoprinter - the pre-eminent medium for anarchistic and activist expressions with which artists respond to the struggles of their time.
Sanne Boekel
Sanne is an illustrator and screen printer based in Groningen. She searches for stories within the absurdity of modern life and translates them into colorful and graphic prints. Her drawings are playful, activist and unexpectedly funny.
Nastia Cistakova
Nastia is an artist, illustrator and self proclaimed "potato fanatic". She expresses herself in an infinite variety of forms; from installations, performances and videos to computer games. But her absurdist and deluded signature is always present.
Saskia Janssen
Saskia is the face behind Studio Ski. She creates images full of quirky human figures and silly jokes. Saskia previously illustrated for the Volkskrant, De Morgen and Runners World Magazine.
Bob Mollema
Bob works as an illustrator, artist and musician. He usually works on large projects in which humanity, absurdity, desire and unfairness are central. These elements are shaped by him into a unique blend, resulting in humorous images that make the viewer think.
Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20, 12:00 - 17:00
Location: Illustratie Ambassade, Meterhuis, Pazzanistraat 6, Amsterdam
