An escape route, harbour or shelter; this time, Wobby is rooted in escapism. In #43, we search not only for a safe physical and emotional space, but a safe haven where thoughts are free to wander, imagination offers protection, and new realities can emerge. Raman Djafari (DE), Joseph Callioni (FR), and Karen Keyrouz (LB/FR) made new work for this issue and talk about their work.

Wobby #42 ends this year with the theme ‘Lore Galore’, about folklore. This edition is co-curated with Mari Campistron. “Folklore is more than tales passed down through generations; it’s a repository of history, customs, and beliefs”, she explains. “In this issue, we asked the selected artists to reflect on the way these tales and traditions are still relevant and how they adapt to our current society. What do artists want to say about traditions and myths?”

In Wobby #41 the theme ‘Get well soon’ plays a central role. The magazine is co-curated by Dutch artists G.C. Heemskerk and Kim David Bots. In this Wobby, thirteen artists offer their interpretations of what recovery means to them and how we can find healing and comfort, both individually and collectively.
